There are a handful of ENGENEs who would like to know what-the-hell-is-happening in ENHYPEN's lore as a big part of their concept revolves around the Dark Moon. This site aims to answer all your questions, and future inquiries!
But before that, let us define the terms.
For new K-Pop fans, a "comeback" means when a Korean artist "comes back" with a new song or album. A comeback is important for K-Pop fans because this means there are new songs, new teaser photos, new music videos, and new stories to dissect.
Storyline, or what most K-Pop fans call the "lore", is the world created by an artist for their fans. The concept of one comeback is a part of a bigger storyline, which will only be able to make sense if you have followed the artist more than one comeback.
Most notable lore from the older groups before ENHYPEN was the 'HYYH: The Most Beautiful Moment in Life' of BTS, EXO as wolves and their superpowers, and SM's 'Kwangya' which started with aespa, who also debuted in November 2020.
ENHYPEN's Main Concept is Vampire.
Before their official debut, ENHYPEN released 2 debut trailers which gained much attention for how dark it is in comparison
to the bright, colorful, disco world of K-Pop in 2020.
It was not explicitly said that ENHYPEN are vampires until the debut. But there were many hints in the debut trailers
and Border: Day One teaser photos.

DARK MOON: The Blood Altar

DARK MOON: THE BLOOD ALTAR is the first installment of the DARK MOON series, officially released on January 16, 2022, with 3 versions: the comic series on Webtoon and the novel on Wattpad. There is also a short-form comic called 'Cuttoon' on their official Twitter.
It revolves around a fictional character named Sooha, a female transfer student to Decelis Academy in hopes to be safe from the vampires and those who consider her as one, and the 7 vampires, hiding as high school athletes, and their entwined fate.
Though both the novel and the comics have the same characters, same places and share the same important scenes, most parts are quite different. Both versions ended on August 12, 2023.
The Cuttoon is still updating every Sunday.
Dark Moon: The Blood Altar is the most successful HYBE Original Story Webtoon, with more than 100 million cumulative views on Naver, 9.78/10 score in South Korea, and ranked in the Top 5 in the 7 different languages for 10 weeks (English, Korean, Chinese, Indonesian, Spanish, German and French). It also has a print version via IZE PRESS, and collaboration with LOTTE WORLD and Korean apparel brand, SPAO.
In 2023, HYBE has announced 3 new DARK MOON series: TWO MOONS, CHILDREN OF VAMFIELD and THE BLOOD OF VARGR. ENHYPEN also released trailers for DARK BLOOD and ORANGE BLOOD, which are spin-offs of the said series.

How To Interpret The ENHYPEN Lore
There is no right and wrong way. ENHYPEN themselves do not stick to one version so why not just interpret it the way you
want it?

Why complicate? Just take the story as it is!
You can definitely read the Dark Moon stories on its own and just interpret their music without connecting it to the lore itself.
Vampire is a metaphor for being an idol. (Sooha is ENGENE?)
Their hardships, as trainees, as survival show winners, as idols are being re-told in a vampiric way.
